OperaUpClose bring two ferocious Tudor Queens to the stage in their new English version of Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda (Mary, Queen of Scots).
Mary, Queen of Scots and Queen Elizabeth I go head-to-head in this historical tragedy, culminating in a fictitious meeting between the rival queens, which sizzles with vocal fireworks.
Maria Stuarda will open for two weeks at Stoke Newington’s The Old Church, the last surviving Elizabethan church in London, and will follow with a tour to similarly evocative and unique venues across the UK.
