Composer Laura Bowler and OperaUpClose artists’ discussion ranges from the depiction of the natural world – particularly the sea – in music, a fascination shared by many composers, to how, despite Wagner’s reputation as a composer on the grandest of scales, there is much intimacy in his work, which we hope to explore in our upcoming production of The Flying Dutchman.
